cabling services

Throughout the World cabling services have transformed the way firms manage themselves.  In the 1970’s and 80’s the latest digital phone systems led to millions of miles of CW1308 being upgraded – but purely for telecoms.  Then computer cabling were of big, thick, black, heavily-screened cabling that terminated in “D-Type†plugs and sockets – normally 9 or 25way – some even used coaxial cable and BNC connectors.

cabling_servicesDuring the 1990’s we saw a new breed of cabling services company – those that installed CAT5 structured cabling that became commonplace allowing voice and data to share the wired infrastructure.  These cabling services didn’t care whether a telephone or PC was connected.  This let the IT Manager relocate staff in the premises easily – no longer did he have to call in two (or more) engineers to effect personnel moves.  cabling_services.pdf

Now CAT6 cabling services have superseded CAT5e and for those who can afford it there are fibre-optic cabling services.  Only those who have a need to protect against theft of information through listening to wireless (radio frequency) emissions or who utilise speeds in the Giga-Bit range should consider such expensive cabling services.
