The Future of video conferencing is a really interesting question and of course nobody knows for certain, however we can offer our informed opinion. We think that the Future of video conferencing will all be done over Broadband. At the moment organisations requiring video conferencing on a large scale are torn between ISDN or IP.

This is because each I-S-D-N channel delivers 64k so 2 achieves 128k which gives poor quality, it’s similar to using a webcam on Yahoo or MSN Messenger, great for home use but not ideal for businesses. 3-6 channels can be ‘glued’ together to give much better signal, costly usage of lines though.

An organisation thinking of purchasing a Telephone System with this Feature should look at the Samsung OfficeServ range as this has flexibility and recommends having the ability to access either protocol, which means that it is able to work with the opposite Switch dependant on which route they have taken.
