isdn phone lines
Most business have ISDN phone lines nowadays. They understand that with CLI & DDI their employees will know who is calling them and more importantly - why.
So what do all these initials mean?
ISDN stands for Integrated Services Digital Networking
C-L-I – Calling Line Identity
D-D-I – Directed Dialling Inwards
There are two strains of ISDN phone lines: ISDN-2e and ISDN-30e. In the 1980s these didn’t have the “e” suffix and there was the option of DASS and DASS2 signalling systems. The “e” now denotes European conformance to the standards.
Having either a capacity of 2 or 30 channels these ISDN phone lines give businesses different rental levels as they may only require 2 or 4 lines while a larger company might want 15.
ISDN 2e circuits each come with fixed 2 channel speech.
ISDN 30e start with a minimum of 8 and maximum of 30 conversations occurring simultaneously.
With ISDN phone lines you are shown the caller’s number (or name) AND the telno they have dialled (D.D.I) on the display of any Samsung telephony platform when the terminal has an LCD.
