Phone Cabling

The term “Phone Cabling” applies to the means for connecting telephony devices to the central control box.

Phone Cabling can be implemented using CW1308 cable terminating in a standard “BT Socket” (BS6312 plug-socket). This method of Phone Cabling is satisfactory in smaller premises where it is unlikely there will ever be any change of staff positions. When it is necessary to move a person a communications engineer is required to (1) install the CW1308 cabling neatly (in some cases hidden); (2) to connect it to a spare extension port of the system and (3) to programme the way in which the user wishes it to perform.

Nowadays offices are more than likely to have a structured cabling (CAT5, CAT5e or even CAT6) where all possibilities of desks / work stations have been planned and phone/data outlets provided. The major benefit with this type of Phone Cabling is that all potential phone ports can have been pre-programmed so the IT manager can simply reposition a user’s PC & telephone without needing to call in two specialists.

Our technicians have installed both styles of Phone Cabling throughout the UK to suit the client’s specification & budget.
