The Polaris headset (P-Series) line looks like the standard H-series headsets, but they are wired differently. They are not amplified and do not require amplifiers. polaris_headset.pdf
The Polaris headset also comes with a Quick Disconnect-to-modular-plug cable. The Polaris headset version plugs into a headset rather than handset port on the telephone. Note that the Polaris headset will only work with telephones that have a dedicated headset-port with a built-in amplifier.
There are two ways to tell the difference between a H and P series headset:
1. The Date Code on the Polaris headset usually, but not always, starts with the letter “P.”
2. The modular plug on the Polaris headset is a smoky grey colour, while on other cables it is clear.
A Polaris headset has a 2 year warranty from date-of-purchase. As an alternative the date-code on the Polaris headset can be used to determine validity if the receipt is not available.
