RJ11 

RJ11 is a connection system used both in telephony & data communications.

Normally employed on a telephone to connect the handset cable into the phone.

RJ11 connectors also terminate a “LINE” connection. The other end of an RJ11 cable will either be a “BT” plug which you would see on a home phone or an RJ45 connector within an office structured cabling system.

RJ11 connectors tend to use the central pairs of wires of an RJ45 socket (i.e. 3, 4, 5 & 6).  Specialised crimping tools are used in their manufacture.  There are many and varied configurations of RJ11 cables which are inexpensive when measured against the cost of doing it yourself.
