Premises Structured cabling is terminated at the central location normally using RJ45 Patch Panels.  The distant end will be 2 or 4 way RJ45 sockets mounted in a trunking system or individual wall-mounted boxes.

 

When choosing an RJ45 Patch Panel there are a number of parameters which you need to consider: (1) the total quantity of outlets to be terminated on the RJ45 Patch Panel; (2) will the RJ45 Patch Panel be located in a rack within the communications room or visible to all staff; (3) does the client have existing RJ45 Patch Panels which are to be matched and (4) total costs.

 

Answers to these questions will determine whether to use 48-way, 24-way, or modular panels where RJ45 modules are loaded to provide the desired capacity and manufacturer. Installing the correct cable management system provides the finished installation with the customer-expected quality result.
