SAMSUNG supply many markets from electronics, chemicals and heavy industries to financial services. Samsung are the largest producer of semi-conductors and the 2nd largest producers of phones. Samsung's fixed wire telecoms offerings have made great progress in the UK and worldwide telecommunications market place. Samsung began in Taegu, Korea but now employs over 200,000 people in most territories across the globe.
The Samsung network division
Samsung network division supply both telephone systems and set-top boxes to all of Europe from Samsung's European headquarters in Chertsey. The website is SamsungBusiness.com. Samsung sell through 800+ UK telephone system dealers. Around 30 of these comms dealers buy directly from Samsung and the remainder get their phones and telecoms support via a distribution company.
Samsung UK history
Samsung telephony equipment was first distributed into Europe by Securicor Telecoms but after a couple of years of success the Koreans bought Securicor Telecoms and moved it to larger offices in Middleton, Manchester. Eventually Samsung moved most of the telecoms staff to Chertsey leaving just telecoms and set-top box distribution remaining at the Middleton site.
