The DCS 408 was the smallest Samsung telephony system marketed in the 1990s.
It’s now been superseded by the OfficeServ7030. This can be configured as a 2 line by two extension if you so wish.
The 408 came either in analogue or ISDN trunk options. The extensions were split 50-50 between digital and simple-analogue. Admin Manual: 408.pdf
Voice Mail for the 408 was external via an SVM-400 although there were very few installed together due to the costs associated. Today with the 7030, voicemail comes as low as £150 (at RRP).
TelephoneSystemsDirect still supports the 408 even though it was made obsolete in September 2008. Technical assistance from the manufacturer ends 2013. As we have a number of clients in the UK with 408 systems, we will be keeping them supported way beyond that date.
