telecom infrastructure
Designing your telecom infrastructure nowadays is somewhat different from back in the days when the telecoms industry was de-regulated. Then the telecom infrastructure of large organisations inhouse was CW1308 wiring to main distribution and test jack frames (mdf and tjf) and between sites was Kilostream and Megastream, AC15 or DC5 or other now forgotten signalling systems.
Today the equivalent telecom infrastructure is likely to be CAT5e or CAT6 within the offices and extending to the factory and warehouse areas through fibre optic cable where it spreads through structured cabling to computers and telephones. Linking branches and sub-offices will be done with 2MHz ISDN circuits for data and more recently VoIP voice traffic will be routed through the internet.
So in only a matter of thirty years the telecom infrastructure of businesses has been transformed.
At TelephoneSystemsDirect we understand telecom infrastructure and the technologies that are useful in their implementation. We are making more use of wireless communications such as Wi-Fi, GSM, 3G, MOBEX and WiMax to keep our travelling workforce in touch.
