telecoms regulation
Gone is the telecoms regulation that required a green circle to be stuck on any telephone or telecoms system. No more red triangle for non-conforming telecoms regulation products.
In 1988 the first telecoms regulation from the EU was the Telecommunication Terminal Directive. This telecoms regulation freed up competition and laid the onus for having safe telecoms on the manufacturers rather than it being imposed through test house certification.
In 1995 the RTTE was published and came into force in 2000 extending telecoms regulation safety in the areas of EMC susceptibility and emissions.
