telephone lines
Describing telephone lines is how we always start our presentations to any potential customer. Why? Because telephone lines selection is crucial to the way your business communicates with its customers.
Take analogue telephone lines. They only provide one conversation at a time and could also carry your internet connection. These telephone lines can have information on the caller’s details utilising DTMF tones sent immediately after the ringing signal. However you then need a special device to read and display the ID.
ISDN telephone lines are provided in two flavours: ISDN2 and ISDN30 giving 2 channels and up to 30 respectively. The rental costs of these telephone lines is slightly lower than for analog telephone lines and has the feature of providing the Calling Line Identity (CLI) for recognition by telephone systems. There are many other features associated with these telephone lines and especially DDI numbers which only cost around 35p per-number-per-month – much cheaper than renting a single line.
Now to SIP telephone lines. This is the latest technology for delivering trunk telephone lines to you. As the name implies these telephone lines are IP based and deliver VoIP to you. As this article is written TelephoneSystemsDirect is not recommending them to its clients as they haven’t settled down yet. They will do and the tariffs will persuade users to change in the years to come.
