voip switch

A voip switch is a means of connecting phones together.  Instead of using traditional TDM switching a voip switch uses voice-over-internet-protocol routing through your existing local area network.

The benefit of a voip switch is that your IT Manager is basically in control; you only need a single CAT5 point per person as the PC connects into the IP-phone.

On the other side of the equation your LAN must be Layer 3 or 4 compliant so that QOS can be turned on; all the IP-phones have to be powered either through plug-top transformers or by utilising more expensive power-over-ethernet switches.

Why choose a voip switch?  Probably so that you can link to home-workers and other sites through the Internet.  If this is one of your reasons then you should consider the OfficeServ 7000 voip switch.  It comes in a range of sizes to suit any business.  It has the flexibility to offer Time-Divison-Multiplexing as well as voip extensions, giving you a wider choice of terminals including DECT, IPDECT & Wi-Fi.

With industry leading voicemail (with vmail to email integration), call recording and management applications, ACD built in and many other features and facilities, this is a voip switch worthy of its Best Buy accolade by "What-to-Buy-for-Business" magazine.
